9/11 toxins: microscopic glass shards
The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC) released toxic particles into the air. One of these harmful agents was microscopic shards of glass. During the event, few knew that these tiny particles could lead to serious health consequences when inhaled or in contact with the skin.
The long-term effects have been severe for the rescue teams, workers, and residents of Lower Manhattan who unknowingly inhaled and came into contact with these microscopic glass shards. Exposure to microscopic glass particles can lead to a range of respiratory issues and other physical injuries.
