As a veteran, your risk of developing a serious disease as a consequence of exposure to asbestos is very high, as the hazardous mineral was present in tremendous amounts in every military branch, but especially in Navy ships during the last century.

The military is notorious for having employed asbestos to a tremendous extent between 1920 and 1980, as the mineral has numerous convenient properties, such as resistance to fire, and was also very cheap. As a consequence, over 20 million people were exposed to asbestos during the last century, 30% of whom are struggling with terrible diseases today. Veterans who served during this period of time are at high risk of developing a disease as a result of military asbestos exposure, particularly those who were part of the U.S. Navy. For this reason, we strongly encourage veterans to undergo medical examination periodically, as diseases that stem from asbestos exposure are asymptomatic in their early phases. Thereby, veterans may unknowingly suffer from a serious disease.

It is important to know that, as a veteran injured by asbestos exposure, you have the right to seek financial compensation for your physical and emotional distress from the Veterans Benefits Administration. Furthermore, veterans are also eligible for compensation from the asbestos trust funds of the companies which manufactured the products they handled while serving in the military. Throughout the country, there are numerous Veterans Benefits Administration facilities that can help veterans with a history of military asbestos exposure receive a correct and accurate diagnosis. Veterans who developed one of the following diseases are entitled to benefits such as disability compensation, which primarily depends on the disability rating they have:

We provide quality legal assistance to veterans injured by military asbestos exposure

With over 30 years of experience in pursuing compensation for the victims of asbestos exposure, our attorneys will thoroughly evaluate your case to determine whether you are eligible for compensation. As a veteran, you are entitled to compensation both from the asbestos trust funds of the companies, which manufactured the hazardous products you were exposed to and from the VA.

While the legal process is very complex, your involvement will be minimal, as you will only have to send in your military records, which you must retrieve, and your medical records. Finally, you should know that our law firm works on a contingency fee basis, which means that you do not have to pay our attorneys anything unless they recover financial compensation for you.
